It’s time for a new car? Do not rush the purchase and do not take the first car that comes along. We tell you what you should consider when buying a car.

The car breaks down or you want to buy a smaller car? Then you should consider a few points, so that you do not spend too much money on the new, mobile undercarriage. We give you six tips for a successful car purchase.

Set yourself a budget limit

A new car needs to be well thought out, because you don’t spend that much money every day. So know your upper limit and stick to it. Sometimes a salesman will try to persuade you to buy a better, more expensive model. Stay stubborn and haggle for every euro.

If the salesman won’t budge on price, walk away and look around for another car instead.

Look around

Before you set foot go to a dealership, find out about different models and prices on the internet. Read experience and test reports from others. If you feel well informed, you can go to the dealerships.

But don’t take the first offer that comes along. Take it to another dealership and see if you can get a better one there.

Consider other models as well

Don’t get locked into one particular model. Almost every car has a similarly priced counterpart. If you are looking for an audi A3 for example, you should also consider a VW golf or a BMW 1 series.

Make the most of the test drive

A test drive is usually part of buying a car. Try out your dream car extensively and drive it on routes, that you typically also drive. If you only want to drive your car in the city, try it out there too. Are you on the road a lot on country roads and highways? Then test the car there.

performance is not everything

The standard equipment of many cars really only offers the bare essentials. But if you do a little more comfort if you don’t want a car with a lot of power, you should consider buying a smaller model with optional extras.

Sleep on it

You have found your car, the budget is met, and the special equipment convinces you. But don’t strike right away. Sleep a night think about it and weigh the pros and cons. You don’t normally buy a car every day. If, after careful consideration, you are still convinced, there is nothing to stop you from buying your dream car.

Festival of speed: hot cars and legendary sports cars at the anniversary event

The all-electric VW I.D R Pikes Peak has already set a record at the legendary Pikes Peak. So it goes without saying that the runabout will also tackle the mountain track at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Driver Romain Dumas completed the 1.86 kilometers in an incredible 43.86 seconds. The third fastest time in the 25-year history of Goodwood

in addition to the future, motorsport’s past was also on display at the goodwood festival of speed 2018. Pictured here: the mercedes-benz T80. With an incredible 3.000 hp and a theoretical top speed of around 756 km/h, the car was set to break the world record for the fastest land vehicle in 1940.
